The mission of the Mason-Deerfield Arts Alliance is to bring art exposure, art education and cultural awareness to the community of Mason and surrounding areas. The Mason-Deerfield Arts Alliance is dedicated to enriching the community by welcoming local and regional visual and performing artist and supporting their efforts through collaboration and partnerships.
The Mason Area Arts Council (MAAC) was founded in 2006 by Executive Director, Meredith Raffel and a team of like -minded individuals who wanted to see a strong, organized arts force in their community. We couldn’t do it alone, however, so with the help of the City of Mason’s City Council members, the MAAC was able to begin to build arts programming and a strong foundation.
The original Board of Directors crafted a Mission Statement, by-laws and a vision for the MAAC that would carry the organization into the future.
Since 2006, the MAAC has produced the Mason Arts Festival, the Art in the Garden Tour, Streetscape Art Gallery, local exhibitions and various events within our local schools. We are growing and changing every day.
We are collaborative and have enjoyed partnerships with many local and regional businesses, schools and arts organizations. This layering approach to arts programming has been the key to our success.
In 2009, the Mason Area Arts Council was named the Warren County Foundation’s Emerging Organization Award.
In 2010, we expanded our partnership with Deerfield Township, a neighboring community, and changed our name to the Mason-Deerfield Arts Alliance. Building this new relationship with Deerfield Township has opened up many new doors for arts programming and even more arts opportunities for the community.
In 2010, the Mason-Deerfield Arts Alliance also found a new home! We are now located at the Snyder House at Cottell Park, 5847 Irwin-Simpson Rd. This lovely home sits on 50+acres.
We are forever grateful to those who have help formed this worthy organization. We are proud of our accomplishments and truly love what we do!
